Resilience Toolbox for Families, Schools & Communities: The RESET Toolbox is full of resources to minimize anxiety and build resilience in children and teens. These online trainings are offered at no-cost and support K-12 Students, Teachers/School Administrators, Parents/Caregivers, and Community Members.
In partnership with Governor Newsom, Parents Anonymous® Inc. recently launched the California Parent & Youth Helpline and Online Parents Anonymous® Support Groups in response to the Coronavirus to provide free trauma-informed, evidenced-based emotional support to Parents, Children and Youth in any language via calls, text, live chat and email. The California Parents & Youth Helpline operates 7 days a week from 8:00AM-8:00PM. Parents can Join a Weekly Online Support Group NOW through the website: caparentyouthhelpline.org. In this confidential setting, parents can address their underlying concerns and build resiliency to strengthen their family.https://caparentyouthhelpline.org/
Given the stress and anxiety many families are experiencing during this pandemic, parents may contact the California Parent & Youth Helpline and Online Support Groups, which are FREE and a valuable resource for Parents, Caregivers, Children and Youth.

For the month of January and as a part of our Wellness Wednesday initiative, Orange County GRIP is providing resources to everyone on encouraging ourselves and managing our emotions. It's a fun game that can be played by yourself and/or with others at home. Thank you OC GRIP for these parent resources.
COUNTY & STATE RESOURCES: APRIL 2021
The California Department of Education, San Diego County Office of Education, and LivingWorks would like to invite middle and high school staff and students in California to complete the 90 minute LivingWorks Start Suicide Prevention Online Training Program. This online training program helps participants learn to recognize when a young person might be experiencing emotional distress or having thoughts of suicide, and teaches them how support and connect them to professional help. Youth who complete the LivingWorks Start Program will be empowered to recognize behaviors in others that could indicate emotional distress or thoughts of suicide and know how to connect them to professional help. Community Service Credits are also available to those students who complete the training.

This training is provided to you at no cost as a result of AB 1808 California Education Code Section 216 and meets the requirements of AB2246 California Education Code Section 215. The training is available on a first come first serve basis to all middle and high schools in California and should be completed within the first 30 days of enrollment. BPSD in partnership with OCDE is would like to share information regarding an upcoming free webinar and Facebook Live event: Suicide Prevention 101 for Parents: Recognizing Signs and What to Do. This free webinar will provide information about suicide prevention for parents, including warning signs for suicide, how to have a conversation with their child, actions to take if their child is having a suicidal thoughts, and resources. The webinar is provided in partnership with CalMHSA, the California Department of Education, the Directing Change Program, and Teen Line.
