The Buena Park School District's Business and Operations division includes Fiscal Services, Child Nutrition, Risk Management, Maintenance, Grounds, Custodial, Transportation, and Safety departments.  The division provides the support services necessary to finance, maintain, and operate all services and programs provided within the district.  Department Directors ensure that timely and efficient services are provided to students, staff, and the local community in each of the following areas.


Fiscal Services Department
The Fiscal Services Department’s primary functions include development and maintenance of the District’s $59 million General Fund budget; cost accounting and financial reporting for all District funds; contract and purchasing activities; accounts receivable and payable; risk management; and payroll processing.

Child Nutrition Services

The Child Nutrition Department’s primary functions include: conducting the District’s universal breakfast program, the National School Lunch program; supporting community needs to administer free and reduced lunch application processing; and supporting health and wellness activities of the District. Annually, the Child Nutrition Department serves over one million meals to Buena Park students.

Maintenance and Operations

The Maintenance & Operations Department's primary functions include: ensuring the District’s 8 facilities are in good repair and serve to enhance the operations of the District’s instructional programs. The M & O department provides timely response to daily maintenance issues; conducts regular, deferred and long-term maintenance; and administers the District’s safety and facilities improvement programs.

Custodial Services & Security

The Custodial Services & Security Department’s primary functions include: daily cleaning of district classrooms, restrooms, offices and meeting areas and implementing and monitoring procedures/protocols to safeguard our students, staff, and campuses.

Transportation Department

The Transportation Department’s primary functions include: providing Home-to-School transportation and activity trip transportation to students. Additionally, the Department provides for the mandatory inspections and fleet service maintenance for the District’s Type I and Type II buses. The District provides Home-to-School student transportation to five of the District’s seven school sites, transporting over 3,600 students per day.
