Apple Professional Learning
Buena Park School District's partnership with Apple helps teachers keep pace with technology and engage students.
Two Apple Coaches with Apple's Worldwide Education team spend each day in and out of classrooms across the district teaching students and teachers to harness the power of iPad learning. Students never know where these Senior Learning Specialists may pop up on any given day – some days in math class, other days in science or history – but they do know that they’re sure to have a fun lesson and maybe learn a little something along the way. The role of a Professional Learning Specialist is more about teaching the teachers and less about direct instruction. Since October 2021, they have led staff developments, helped teachers create subject-specific content, and co-taught lessons with them. Teachers can also book time for an Apple Coach to come by to meet with them, but many just grab a moment on the fly.
