Disney Musicals in Schools

Corey Elementary School is Buena Park School District's Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) school and a Disney Musicals in Schools Grant recipient. As part of this program, the school receives showkits to put on a musical every year. In addition, the musical team receives training in directing and choreography each summer at Segerstrom Center for the Arts. All students are welcome, and they come together twice a week after school to act, sing, and dance. At the end of the school year, the students and their teachers put on a shortened but full-scale musical production, complete with lights, sound, costumes, and sets. Students may be on stage as actors or behind the scenes as tech crew.
