Segerstrom Center for the Arts
Segerstrom Center for the Arts (SCFTA) shares the art of musical theater with Orange County schools through its "Disney Musicals in Schools" program, which aims to strengthen arts programming and develop partnerships among students, faculty, staff and the greater community.
Corey Elementary School was selected by Segerstrom to participate in this program, including a 17-week residency staffed by professional SCFTA Teaching Artists who helped Corey faculty build the skills needed to mount a musical theater production. Corey now produces an annual Disney musical, which gives participating students an extra dose of self-confidence, speaking and reading skills, and musical theater techniques -- all while having a glorious time!
