Independent Study Options

Buena Park School District is proud to offer four Independent Study options for students and families:

Academy for Accelerated Learning (AAL) is a year-long virtual home study educational program that offers high-quality, flexible learning options for students in grades K-8 with the support of a credentialed teacher.

Short-Term Independent Study (ST-ISP) is a flexible learning option for students in TK-8th grade who need to be away from school for 1 to 15 days. It allows students to continue practicing important academic skills while they are absent.Independent Study Physical Education (ISPE) is a voluntary independent study course for Buena Park School District students enrolled in 7th or 8th grade. 

The Community Home Education Program (CHEP) is an independent study program administered by the Orange County Department of Education that offers free resources to parents who choose to educate their children at home.
