College & Career Readiness
College and Career Readiness programs in the Buena Park School District explore each school's focus area across grade levels through a lens of career readiness.
All BPSD schools include a College and Career Readiness lens. For example, the Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) are the focus of Corey's pathway, where students at every level explore the visual and performing arts through a lens of career readiness, embarking on a journey of career exploration and self-discovery. Emery's College and Career Readiness program takes students on a journey through Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) across all grade levels, with a particular emphasis on hands-on projects in the STEAM Lab that foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. The middle schools include electives that have a career-oriented focus, including courses such as medical science and sports science (Beatty Middle School) and culinary arts, journalism, and industrial arts (Buena Park Middle School).
