Reclassification Celebration
The Buena Park School District hosts a Celebration of Multilingual Learners each year, where students gather with their families to mark their official reclassification from English Language Learner to Fully English Proficient or multilingual students.Through the support of the schools and educators, the students develop their language skills while learning content at the same time. To be reclassified from ELL, they must achieve proficiency on state and district tests, earn strong grades, and pass a review by their teachers, administrators, and parents. The celebration honors students who already know one complete language and are well on their way to mastering a second or third.
