Computer-Science/ Coding

Computer Science/ Coding utilizes a hands-on individualized approach to programming. Students who take Coding learn to design and implement computer programs that solve problems relevant to today’s society, including art, media and engineering. At Beatty Middle School, students also learn to apply programing tools and solve complex problems through hands-on experiences and examples.

Advanced Coding students continue to develop and implement computer programming skills, apply programming tools, and solve complex problems through hands-on programming experiences and challenges. At Buena Park Middle School, the TechSmart content is fully web-based, allowing students to develop their skills in writing and running code in Python. This coding program has been developed to create a career pathway to computer science programs offered at our local high schools, certificate programs, 2-year colleges, and universities.
